BUILD YOUR FOUNDATIONS

Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure (AZ-140) Virtual Desktop in Electronic City Bangalore

Organisations running remote and hybrid workforces need administrators who can design, deploy, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop environments. This AZ-140 course in Electronic City Bangalore gives you that practical administration skill set. Over 12 weeks, you work through the full AVD lifecycle: networking for session hosts, storage for user profiles, host pool planning, session host image management, identity integration, FSLogix configuration, application delivery, security hardening, and disaster recovery. Every lesson runs as a 45-minute live class in classroom or online mode.

Classroom format and lab work

Each 45-minute session combines explanation with a portal task or configuration exercise. You do not watch a trainer click through Azure. You create host pools, configure session host settings, build images with Azure VM Image Builder, implement FSLogix Profile Containers and Office Containers, configure Cloud Cache, and publish RemoteApp programs. The monitoring module takes you through Azure Monitor workbooks for AVD Insights, autoscaling configuration, and session host capacity optimisation. For learners comparing cloud administration tracks, this course focuses specifically on virtual desktop infrastructure. If your goal is general Azure administration across compute, networking, and storage, our Azure Administrator course covers that broader scope.

Who this course suits

The course fits desktop administrators moving into cloud VDI, Azure administrators adding AVD skills, and IT professionals preparing for AVD administrator interviews in Bangalore. You do not need to be an AVD expert before joining, but you should understand basic Azure resources and Windows desktop management. The Intermediate level reflects the pace: we cover configuration in depth without spending weeks on cloud fundamentals.

What you’ll learn

  • Assess network capacity and design session host networking for Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Plan and implement RDP Shortpath, QoS policies, and Azure Private Link for AVD
  • Implement storage for FSLogix components using storage accounts, file shares, and Azure NetApp Files
  • Recommend resource groups, subscriptions, and management groups for AVD resources
  • Create host pools and session hosts through the Azure portal and automate with PowerShell, CLI, ARM, and Bicep
  • Create and manage session host images using manual methods and Azure VM Image Builder
  • Plan and implement identity integration with AD DS, Microsoft Entra ID, and Conditional Access
  • Configure RBAC, authentication options, and single sign-on for AVD connections
  • Implement security using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender Antivirus, and Defender for Endpoint
  • Configure FSLogix Profile Containers, Office Containers, Cloud Cache, and application masking
  • Deploy and troubleshoot AVD clients, device redirection, and multimedia redirection
  • Monitor AVD with Azure Monitor, implement autoscaling, and plan disaster recovery and backup

Before you start

  • Basic experience with Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking concepts
  • Familiarity with Windows desktop and server administration
  • Understanding of Active Directory and identity concepts
  • Access to a laptop and internet connection for online or classroom lab work
  • No prior AVD deployment experience required, but Azure portal familiarity helps

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently asked questions

Is the AZ-140 exam still available and what does it cover?

Yes. Microsoft lists the AZ-140 exam as active, with a study guide updated as of July 2026 . The exam covers four domains: plan and implement AVD infrastructure (40–45%), plan and implement identity and security (15–20%), plan and implement user environments and apps (20–25%), and monitor and maintain AVD infrastructure (10–15%). It is proctored through Pearson VUE, lasts 100 minutes, and requires a score of 700 to pass . Our course completion certificate is separate from the Microsoft credential. If you plan to sit the exam, budget for the $99 USD fee and confirm current pricing on Microsoft’s site.

How is this course different from your Azure Administrator course?

The Azure Administrator course covers broad Azure administration across compute, networking, storage, and identity for general cloud roles. This AZ-140 course focuses specifically on Azure Virtual Desktop: host pools, session host images, FSLogix profiles, AVD networking with RDP Shortpath, application delivery, and VDI security. The job roles are different. If you want to manage virtual desktops and remote apps, this is the right course. If you want general Azure infrastructure administration, choose the Azure Administrator track.

Does the syllabus cover FSLogix in enough depth?

Yes. Module 2 covers storage for FSLogix components. Module 8 is dedicated entirely to FSLogix with five lessons: recommending FSLogix configuration, configuring Profile Containers, configuring Office Containers, configuring Cloud Cache, and implementing application masking. You also work with Azure Files and Azure NetApp Files as storage backends for FSLogix profiles.

Can I attend this course online if I cannot come to Electronic City?

es. The course runs in both classroom and online modes. Online learners join the same live 45-minute sessions and complete the same lab tasks in the Azure portal. You need a laptop and access to an Azure subscription for labs.

What certificate will I receive after finishing?

You receive a course completion certificate from eMexo Technologies. This confirms your participation in the 12-week AZ-140 syllabus training. It is not a Microsoft certification. The Microsoft AZ-140 exam is a separate assessment you book and pay for through Pearson VUE. If you pass the vendor exam, you earn the Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty credential, which requires annual renewal through a free online assessment on Microsoft Learn .
